Top 5 prepaid phone plans

2012 was quite an exciting year for cellular technology and with us now coming to the business end of 2013, we really don't know what to expect. But, in spite all of this; one thing that will definitely not change is cell phone services. Prepaid cell phone service pricing has pretty much stayed the same throughout the year and doesn't look like changing anytime soon. Keeping that in mind, I have put together this list of 5 of the best prepaid service providers in the country today. Which one do you prefer?

1. AT&T

AT&T is first and foremost a contact plan service provider. It is only recently that market pressure has forced them to start selling prepaid plans. Still, AT&T is known to be quite expensive in terms of cell phone plans. But AT&T Wireless has now started offering certain prepaid plans where you can enjoy the benefits of the AT&T service without having to pay for expensive contracts. You can enjoy nationwide service on AT&T and even LTE services where they are available. There are a large number of plans for you to choose from and you can even choose to go with pay per day plans. And the best part? You get the exact same service as any contract AT&T subscribers.

2. Sprint

Sprint was one of the last service providers in the market to start offering prepaid cell phone services. In fact, they started offering prepaid services as late as January 2013. Their prepaid plans allow you the benefit of Sprint's excellent 4G coverage as well as their nationwide 3G coverage. Their prepaid phone plans are great for customers that want to benefit from Sprint's service without having to be tied down by a contract. They have excellent unlimited plans, priced at $ 50 and $ 70. And there is nothing else to it. Just unlimited everything. What more could you want from a prepaid cell phone service?

3. Boost

When it comes to CDMA prepaid cell phone service providers, Boost is one of the best and most trusted in the country. They are quite reasonable priced as well. They use Sprint's network for their service and this means that you get access to Sprint's network of 3G, 4G WiMAX, texting and calling without having to sign up with them. Their monthly plan is their most popular offering with a cost of around $ 50. The best part about this plan is that its cost reduces to around $ 35 if you can stick with the plan for 18 months. Now that is a great additional benefit isn't it?

4. T-Mobile

T-Mobile is one the biggest cell phone service providers in the country and is usually the cheapest as well. And when they came into the prepaid cell phone market, they definitely shook things up. They now offer no contract plans to all their customers and the best part is that the customers get all the benefits just as if they had signed up for a contract plan. Who wouldn't want that?

5. Verizon

They are quite popular when it comes to prepaid plans, mostly because of their excellent 4G data service. They too offer unlimited plans for $ 50 which includes unlimited texting, talking and data. But they have a separate policy for smart phone users. For smart phones, $ 60 will get you 500 MB of data along with unlimited texts and talking while $ 70 will get you 2 GB of data and unlimited texts and talking. It is a little expensive, but you benefit from Verizon's excellent nationwide coverage so everybody wins in the end.
